Proverb - Parable, Truth
Proverbs 1:1-8
THE proverbs ... of Solomon the son of David, the king of Israel;
proverb - parable, truth
(SoulJa Boy Tell em ... & Cupid Shuffle are like parables to me -- I can over look any words that might not be appropriate in the church setting)
parable - (a moral or spiritual truth) a heavenly message with an earthly story
Solomon - asked of God wisdom, had wise judgment, his idolatry, God's covenant with him, rebuke and death (I Kings 3:5, I Kings 3:16, I Kings 9, I Kings 11:1,9,41)
I Kings 4:32
And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.
Proverbs 1:2
To know wisdom .... and instruction: ... to perceive the words of understanding;
wise - wise up, to guide, direct, instruct, discern, guided by wisdom
Proverbs 1:3
To receive .... the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
equity - fair, fairness in dealing

Proverbs 1:4
To give subtilty to the simple, ... to the young man ... knowledge ... and discertion.
subtilty - crafty
simple - plain, not hard to understand, Ignorant, not wise, lacking sense, .............. MUSIC
knowledge - experience, skill, information, enlightment (information - knowledge communicated or acquired by reading or observation)
discretion - advisement, discerning, cautious, being discreet .. (pray, faith, watch, be careful, cautious - God knows)
Proverbs 1:5
A wise man will hear, ... I will increase learning; ... and a man of understanding ... shall attain unto wise counsels:
wise counsel - coach, consultant; watch who you take advice from -- but it is good to know the good and the bad ... Romans 8:28,29
Proverbs 1:6
To understand a proverb, .... and the interpretation; ... the words of the wise, ... and their dark sayings.
interpretation - some things mean difference things to different people, groups, cultures, etc. ........................ (explain, translate)
dark sayings - valuable helps, good to know, be careful and cautious

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD, ... is the beginning of knowledge: ... but fools ... despise wisdom and .... instruction.
Real Life 101: You should never get to the place where you will not listen to others advice and weigh it.
Proverbs 1:8
My son, ... hear the instruction of thy father, ... and forsake not the law of thy mother.
hear - listen, pay attention, discern
law - teaching (could - will guide you - my teachings and my way of life came from my late grandmothers, bigdaddy, and my daddy mostly)
Proverbs 3:5,6
Trust in the LORD ... with all thine heart, ... and lean not ... unto thine own understanding.
In all .. thy ways acknowledge him, ... and he shall direct thy paths.
wisely - discern - be careful - be cautious - The Favour of God, Pray and ask God for wisdom.
